World Peace Mission International Appeals for UN Commitment to Kashmir Resolution
The Coordinator for Asia of the World Peace Mission International Mr. Hassan Raza has called upon the international community to honor its commitments to peace and justice by ensuring the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination as enshrined in the United Nations Security Council resolution of January 5 1949. Highlighting the pressing need for adherence to international law Mr. Raza emphasized the importance of a free and impartial plebiscite under UN auspices to resolve the longstanding dispute. He urged global leaders to address the human rights challenges in the region with urgency and reaffirmed that unilateral actions in the occupied territory undermine the principles of the UN Charter and international peace efforts.
